See Path Lab catalog for instructions per sample type.(Peripheral blood, Bone marrow, Tissue - routinely go to Path Lab - (ALL Flow specimens go to Neogenomics on Fridays) On fridays the Flow order for these sample types need canceled and a Miiscellaneous lab needs ordered for FLow to Neogenimics)
Specimens that ALWAYS go to Neogenomics include, body fliuds, CSF, Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) on Blood, Cytology Bronchial alveolar Lavage (BAL) - order code for these should be Miscellaneous (note to Neogenomics)
MAKE 2 UNSTAINED SMEARS AND SEND TO ROCK ISLAND LAB.
COMPLETE THE FLOW CYTOMETRY WORKSHEET AND SEND WITH THE SPECIMEN.
MUST SEND A CBC REPORT IF AVAILABLE.
SEND SPECIMEN/SLIDES/FORM TO ROCK ISLAND LAB, THEY WILL ACCESSION AND FORWARD TO PATH LAB.
The specimen must be accessioned with a Q-Flow code, call Rock Island Pathology to get this completed. Email patient information to QC_PathologyOffice@unitypoint.org
